Built by a teacher, in the evenings.

Speca exists because adapting everything yourself is the job that eats the evening, and because most of what is on offer is generic content with an exam board label stuck on it.

Who makes it

Speca is made by a serving UK secondary teacher, working solo and self-funded. There is no content team and no investors. When you email, you get the person who writes the resources.

How a subject actually gets built

Every subject starts with the published specification, read directly. From that we write an in-house topic map in our own words: what each topic requires, what the tiers or options are, where students reliably go wrong. Nothing is generated from an exam board's own text.

Resources are then written against that map, and every subject is independently rechecked before it ships. That recheck is not a formality: it has caught tier misattributions, a factual error about a real earthquake's plate margin, and an invented place name that sat one letter away from a real council. Those were found and fixed before anyone downloaded them.

Why SEN-friendly is not an add-on

Nearly one in five pupils in England has an identified special educational need. Dual-coded, chunked slides with worked examples before independent practice are not a premium feature here, they are the only way the resources are made, on the free plan as well as Pro.

What we will not do

  • Reproduce questions from a past paper or a mark scheme. Every question is originally authored, which is what makes Speca safe for a school to use and share internally.
  • Claim an endorsement we do not have. Speca is independent and not affiliated with AQA or any other exam board.
  • Show you a number of users we do not have. When this site quotes a figure, it is one you could check.

Where it is going

Six subjects are built across two countries. The order of what comes next is decided by what teachers actually ask for, so if a subject or exam board matters to you, say so.

Tell us what to build next

The fastest way to influence what gets written is to email and say which subject, which board, and which year group.
